This weekend

Ezra is asleep on me and I thought I would grab a moment to make a list of some plans for this weekend and the coming days. Firstly some things I am loving right now:

hearing about other families progress with raw food. Think I may have be asking lots of questions of Gina (space of love) and Claire (radical mama).

Life Without School, the new book by The Mother Magazine's wonderful editor - Veronika Robinson - arrives today. I love it so much already!

Spending time with family and friends. Just got back from a visit to see my parents, cousin, and grandad - not to mention the birthday party of a very special little girl. Happy birthday Charlie! xx

talking to likeminded mamas - this week has seen us inviting Relatively
new friends around to talk home ed and discuss setting up our own group! Plus we hosted the first homebirth support group for the area and ventured out to natural parenting club to talk fair trade and a whole lot more besides!

Crocheting - so far I have completed a hat for Charlie and am now half way through Phoebe's. Next is Ele's.

Hearing wonderful news from friends - babies on the way and a decision made that will bring much happiness to dear friend (not to mention the happiness it will being me! ;)

sam's vegan cake!

Starting to make plans for the year ahead - extension kind of plans!

This new blog!

And most of all my amazing family! Phoebe with her never ending questions and faultless logic ("boys are 4 and girls are 3" - that has been her experience in life so far!) and Ezra with his ceaseless quest to be on the move! He is so happy and smiley and, well, desperate to get about! Lastly Russ for his open mindedness, hard work and for standing shoulder to shoulder with me through this journey.

What are you loving right now?

Thought I would share with her, and the rest of you, some great patterns for hairbands that I have saved. Hoping to make myself a few soon!

Apologies for the lack of linkiness. It's hard to do on my mobile!

Myself and my good friend 'Mummybear' over at Slugs and Snails have decided that we wish to take a journey together. Its something i have thought about for quite a long while and it turns out so has she. We are going to dreadlock our hair.

We have followed or read other people's journeys including these beautiful mamas:

Sara at Walk Slowly, Live Wildly

Denise, Boho Girl

Polly at PixieMama

Lucy at Chasing Pixies

Charlotte at Outnumbered

Mothernature from the GP Forum

Claire at Now We Are Six

We have swapped numerous pictures and have both found a style that we feel will suit us. Tomorrow Louise is coming over and we will begin with her hair. I'm so excited!

This means a lot to me. It's about more than just my hair. It's me saying I'm done with ignoring my call to individuality to please other people. I'm done with trying to be the person others want me to be. I am me and i want to say yes more and embrace this life, after all we only have one shot at it. I don't want my life to be full of regrets.
I may try it and hate it, who knows. But i'll never know if i don't try and have been assured you can get them out in the early days if you change your mind. Sop off we go on our journey. I'll be sure to share pictures with you!

Playing in Bretton Park

Here are a few pics from a couple of weeks ago when we went to see Sarah, Jack and Ele and we ventured to the park. It was a clear crisp afternoon so we didn't stay out long but it was fun.

The warrior spirit in action!

Sarah has a sneaky test of the zipwire.

A late night note

Tomorrow I plan to blog. I've got photos to share, and thoughts. So many things whirling around in my head. It's far too late now, I should have been asleep long ago but got caught up in the world of mama blogs and oohing and aahing over babies and latest creations. I am sorely missing sharing our life with you. I've decided thatblogging, recording our days, must be a priority for me. It feels so inportant tomeright now to have a place to explore thoughts and be myself thatiam considering setting up my own seperate blog. A place just for me. But am yet to decide if that's the path to take. Think I'll sleep on it.
I am full of hopes for the weekend so wish me luck! xx
